Japan quake damaged internet cables, internet sluggish

People have been talking about the internet connection like they are talking about the weather lately. In Malaysia, instead of asking "Dah makan?", people are starting to greet each other with "internet getting slower lah..."

Some even update their facebook status or tweet "screw TM" or "Celcom Chee Bye Broaband" or "Digi Bodoband". Especially those who have pictures and videos to upload, which cannot wait.

Coincidently, everyone is also talking about the 8.9 earthquake in Japan, the resulting tsunami and radioactive clouds.

Can't we all calmly connect these two dots together?

Japan is after all one of the resource of everything high tech.  When something bad happens there we can't just say "God be with the people of Japan", turn around and immediately curse at the sluggish internet speed; pretend there's absolutely nothing wrong with the rest of the world.

I know many have been trying to figure out why the internet has become so slow.  Why facebook has not responded as fast as it should. How does everything relate to the 8.9 Japan quake.

Thankfully and timely, the answer is available.  Just type the right words on Google and you'll get some leads. Here's one.

Hopefully we all would stay calm and stay compassionate towards those in need.

We live on the same Earth.  We are all in the same boat.
