All about the Royal Wedding

.
My morning drive to work today was blasted with the Royal Wedding 'everything' of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. Every radio channel I flipped registered the words 'Royal Wedding'. I've heard friends talk about wanting to catch the event on Astro and online at Youtube. Even the Star paper had several pages dedicated to it. I've not talked about it yet because it doesn't seem to concern me.

But now that my ears have been bugged and my thoughts diverted, I've decided that it's time to learn more about the whole shebang.  The live telecast is, after all, scheduled at 3.30pm Malaysian time.
Here's what I learned from BBC, yeah, where else would you look for news about everything English.

The Schedule
The guests will begin to arrive at the abbey at 0815 BST. However, first members of the Royal Family - Prince William and his best man Prince Harry will only arrive after two hours. That's a long wait, albeit royal.
According to the confirmed wedding timings, the marriage service will begin at 1100 London time, or 7pm Kuala Lumpur time. An hour and a quarter later Prince William and Catherine Middleton will emerge as a married couple and take a carriage procession to Buckingham Palace.

The Seating
The wedding gathers 1,900 guests in Westminster Abbey, including 46 foreign royals, the prime minister and members of the cabinet and the armed forces. Take a 360 degree tour of the abbey.
Other members of the Royal Family and Middleton family, friends like David and Victoria Beckham and other diplomats from around the world are seated according to the arrangement shown here > Seating plan.

The Route
Shortly after midday in London or about 8pm Malaysian time, following the wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey, William and Kate will travel in an open carriage past crowds of well-wishers to Buckingham Palace. They will go in a procession past many of London's best known landmarks.
Explore the route on the map of the royal wedding route or if you want a little flavor of how it just might feel to be in the procession itself explore the route on video.

The Broadcast on youtube
The whole world can follow the Broadcast on youtube here > http://www.youtube.com/user/TheRoyalChannel
The broadcast begins at 5pm Kuala Lumpur time. People can upload their congratulatory video messages there too.

The Wedding Wish
So, I guess it's not too late for me to say "Congratulations Prince William And Catherine".

In Bahasa remix, "Putera William dan Catherine, Kongratulasi...!"
Marriage is like mango lassi.  Jangan tunggu lama-lama, nanti basi.

Virus tags friends on facebook picture

No, I don't want to view who viewed my profile on facebook.  Who cares if people view my profile on facebook. Hundreds of people see me on the street while I drive, get lunch, send my laundry, get dinner and run errands.

What difference does it make to know how many people viewed my profile on facebook? Does it give me points? Do I get to redeem cash or kind with those points?

No?

So stop persuading me to see who viewed my profile and how many times, you stupid virus!

And people, please stop clicking on the links which don't even look like a valid web address. They're all clickjacking scam virus.  Yes, they bring you somewhere but you'll get infected along the way...  What is http://is.gd/OXLYES/327485   and shit like that anyway...

He touched me and I'm never washing my hands

.

This sounds so wrong coming from a 12 year old girl, splashed on page N10 of the Star.  Online article here He touched me

As I caught a glimpse of the headline, I thought "who has molested a child this time around. Such a sick country."
When I read on, i went like 'cheh... they couldn't come up with  a better headline meh... '

Ask "Where did he touch you" and 12 year old Bi-Anne would definitely raise her right hand and grin.

Oh, the fever of Justin Bieber.
.

Beware "Tagged you in a post" Facebook Clickjacking Scam

.
There's a new clickjacking scam going on in facebook.  It's got most of my friends.

Click-jacking is done with a seductive link posted with statements like "Justin Bieber Caught Naked on the Beach" or "Japanese Tsunami brought whale crashing into a building" or "Lady Gaga fall off a piano while performing on stage".

Most of them are attached with curious pictures. Once you click on the picture or link, it will update your status saying you 'like'd a link. When your friends see your status, they would be curious and do the same.  It's like wildfire. It's like nuclear reaction! It's viral!

The latest clickjacking is done with notifications telling you "Your friend tagged you in a post" and "see who viewed you profile" written on the post.

When you click on the notification marked "Scam" as in the picture above, you's be taken to the post. Most of the times, "your friend would have removed the post and you'd get an error.  However, as you are tagged by a few friends, those notifications get shown on your profile page.

The post tells you how many times you friends viewed your profile.  Notice the numbers are the same. 1764, 1492, 1206, 1088 and 991.  Only the names change.

This means they got hold of your personal information as soon as you click on the link provided after the words, "see who viewed your facebook profile". After that, the virus takes over and tags most, if not all you friends, four at a time.

Whatever you do, DON'T CLICK! Remove the post as soon as you see it.  Because even if you did not click on the link, friends who view your profile would get curious and click the trap.

Please share this to you friends and stop this deceiving 'virus'.

Celcom Broadband keeps disconnecting

I have been blessed with good connection ever since I signed up with Celcom RM48 package the day I landed in Miri, Friday 15 April 2011.  The startup kit cost RM88 which comes with a free modem, but somehow I doubt it's free.

The good connection enabled me to keep myself updated with facebook and many other portals serving news about the big election in Sarawak. I even managed to upload a few video clips for updates in macambagus.com
All post from 15 April 2011 till now were made possible with Celcom Broadband RM48 pack.

I was very impressed with the whole 'keeping connected deal' that I almost wanted to harp about how stable and decent celcom broadband is at RM48 per month on facebook and this blog.

I'm glad I procrastinated because Celcom Broadband is giving me hell today.  It disconnects every 5 minutes. It disconnects so often that I got used to checking the connection and clicking the connect button every time I intend to click a link.  Sometimes clicking once doesn't solve the problem because it fails to Authenticate. I had to  retry several times to stay online.  Urgh...

It pisses me off to have to Authenticate every 5 minutes!

I really hope it's because today is Sunday and there's not enough technicians on site. Otherwise I'm going to really get my money back.
